The favourites to sign Morgan Rogers revealed as Aston Villa developments promise summer transfer
Chelsea are leading the race to sign Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers if he leaves in the summer transfer window.
The midfielder has enjoyed another superb season in the Premier League, although he has struggled as his team has in recent weeks.
The Villans had been on a charge towards a sensational title challenge, winning 12 out of 13 league games between September and December.
But the turn of the year has seen Unai Emery’s team collapse, with there now being a serious risk that they will fall out of the top four altogether.
Rogers signed a new contract in November, but his Villa future remains in big doubt amid interest across the continent.

Chelsea and Liverpool among Morgan Rogers contenders
There was significant interest in Rogers last summer, after the midfielder had enjoyed a stunning first full Premier League season.
The 23-year-old was named PFA Young Player of the Year after netting eight goals and providing 10 assists, and that is not to include the nine direct goal contributions he bagged in other competitions.
But Villa were determined to make sure he stayed put, and a serious bid ultimately failed to materialise.

Rogers started the season slowly, but rediscovered his best form as Emery’s team struck a rich vein of form, dazzling against the likes of Leeds United, West Ham and Manchester United.
The former Middlesbrough man has also caught the eye of Thomas Tuchel, who will likely include him in his England squad for this summer’s World Cup.
Yet there remains a question of where Rogers will be after the tournament. Should Villa fail to qualify for the Champions League, they will have collapsed massively.
Football Insider exclusively revealed last month that sources insist that Villa will not sell Rogers, but speculation continues to spiral.
Should he decide to depart, Chelsea have been named the 3/1 favourite to sign him by one major bookmaker, while Liverpool (4/1) and Man United (13/2) follow closely behind.
Unai Emery doubts starting to creep in
Emery is likely one of the key factors that would keep Rogers at Villa Park this season, with the pair sharing a great relationship.
But with each disappointing result, there starts to grow a slight twinge of doubt about the Spaniard’s own future.
Fans have begun to grow frustrated with some questionable line-up decisions, and the 54-year-old’s post-game strops can appear unprofessional.
While it is highly unlikely that Villa would consider sacking Emery, considering how far they have come under him, it cannot be ruled out that a poor end to the season could see the manager walk away himself.
