Mohammed Kudus is edging closer to a return to Tottenham Hotspur, which will be a major boost for Roberto De Zerbi.

Tottenham’s current predicament comes down to a multitude of factors, but perhaps none quite as important as their extensive injury list.

Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison and Kudus are just three of the players who have missed most, if not all, of the current campaign.

However, Kudus is edging closer to his return from injury, and it will be the boost that De Zerbi so desperately needs.

Mohammed Kudus return edges closer

Prior to his sacking, Igor Tudor claimed that it would not be long until Kudus is back in contention, and while next weekend’s trip to Sunderland may come too soon, it may not be much longer.

And aside from his goals and assists, of which he has seven in the Premier League this season, Kudus will bring plenty back to this disjointed Tottenham side that could steer them to safety.

First and foremost, his ability on the ball is up there with the best in the division, having completed 51 per cent of his attempted dribbles this season, with a total of 52 completed.

It places him among the top 12.2 per cent of Premier League wingers for that metric.

On top of that, Kudus’ ability to create something from nothing will be vital to their survival hopes, with an average of 1.34 chances created per game and 1.63 successful crosses per game.

His return will give a huge boost to De Zerbi, and one that Tudor was never afforded the luxury of.

Who else could return for Spurs in April?

Many of Tottenham’s injuries are long-term, but they are expected to welcome several members of their squad back in the next few weeks should their recoveries go to plan.

Among those include Guglielmo Vicario, Rodrigo Bentancur and Ben Davies, with several other players who have suffered minor knocks also set to return.

De Zerbi will need as close to a full squad as he can have at Tottenham if he is to keep them in the Premier League ahead of the final seven games of the season.
