View: Moyes could reunite with ex-Everton star for cheap as Euro club assess 'disciplinary measures'
Everton will surely be paying close attention to Romelu Lukaku’s situation at Napoli, with David Moyes keen on a Merseyside reunion.
Napoli issued a statement on Tuesday regarding Lukaku not being present for training, despite withdrawing from the Belgian national team.
The Italian club claim the striker didn’t respond to their calls, and that they reserve the right to take “disciplinary measures” once further evaluation of the matter is complete.
Everton tried to sign the number nine in the January transfer window, but the Belgian didn’t want to decide on his Napoli future until the summer.
Now, with the Serie A club set to actively monitor his activity with the team, all signs are pointing towards Lukaku being available for cheap this summer.

Napoli tensions mean wage only barrier for Romelu Lukaku’s Everton return
Everton first approached Lukaku’s agent in the winter due to him not being used consistently in Italy.
With the World Cup around the corner, it always seemed like the number nine should have been wanting more game time, from the outside looking in.

A big reason for Lukaku’s lack of game time has been his fitness issues, which adding to his absence from training, will leave Napoli with a summer decision to make.
There’s always a chance that both Napoli and the former Everton man agree to a contract termination, but his deal is still set to expire in June of 2027.
This means that the Italian giants may look for a final fee for him this summer, but it would most likely be one that the Friedkin Group can afford, given everything that’s happened this season.
The only stumbling block preventing the 32-year-old from making his Everton comeback could be his wages, but unless a Saudi Arabia-esque offer comes in for him, then the Toffees will surely look for an attractive offer.
Imagine where Everton would be with Lukaku up top this season
The Toffees are close to securing a spot in European football for next season, which would not only be a big pulling factor for Lukaku, but also for other top-quality players.
If anything, the Blues are already somewhere Lukaku should be thinking about, regardless of their success this season.
As seen with Jack Grealish this summer, sometimes all players want is just to play football.

Assuming Moyes finishes this campaign strongly, he will have a good chance at being able to keep top stars at the club, as well as bringing in improvements.
The striker area will most likely be targeted this summer, and it raises the question of just how good Everton would be if they added Lukaku to their normal lineup.
