Ryan Naderi appears to be on the verge of being officially announced as a new Rangers player.

Rangers reached an agreement with Hansa Rostock for Naderi on Monday evening to sign the striker for a reported £4.75million upfront fee.

Naderi underwent his medical in Manchester earlier in the day, with the attacker expected to now become a Gers player imminently.

While there was no confirmation prior to the 11pm deadline for Scottish clubs, some promising footage was shared from Rangers‘ training ground.

Sky Sports Scotland shared footage via X of Naderi arriving at Auchenhowie on Monday night.

The report added that paperwork was still to be finalised at that point for a deal to officially go through.

It is now known whether the Gers submitted a deal sheet that would give them a bit of extra time.

However, all things point towards a deal being announced by Rangers at some point very soon.

Rangers did announce, however, that Clinton Nsiala has joined Westerlo on loan for the rest of the season with the Belgian club having the option to buy.

Confusion remains over Danilo’s Rangers career

Rangers have wanted Naderi for a while, but the fact it has gone right down to the wire – beyond it, in fact – has had a negative impact on some.

Danilo was pushing for a move to NEC Nijmegen and was even pictured at one of their games at the weekend.

However, it is also unclear at this stage whether that transfer has been sanctioned.

Had Naderi not been recruited, Danny Rohl would have needed Danilo as a back-up to Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski.

The good news is that Rangers appear to have brought in a new striker, but fans will still be underwhelmed that more signings were not incoming over the past couple of weeks.

Rohl not know what he has to work with – or will do imminently – and it is over to the German to pull off an unlikely title charge.
