Xavi Simons taunted by Wolves fans while stretchered off after Tottenham injury blow
Tottenham star Xavi Simons appeared to be sworn at and taunted by Wolves fans as he was stretchered off the pitch in their Premier League relegation scrap.
On a dramatic afternoon, Spurs briefly climbed out of the relegation zone on goal difference thanks to Palhinha’s late winner at Molineux.
West Ham United led at home to Everton but an equaliser from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall appeared to hand Roberto De Zerbi and his side a huge favour.
But Callum Wilson’s late winner for the Hammers ensured Spurs end the day still in the bottom three.
Tottenham’s afternoon was further marred by injuries for Dominic Solanke and Simons.
Solanke has made just 19 appearances this season, missing the first-half campaign with an ankle injury.
He has started and completed every game since De Zerbi’s arrival but disaster struck shortly before half-time.

The former Bournemouth star appeared to suffer a hamstring injury in the 40th minute of the game, with Richarlison quickly brought onto replace him.
Injury problems have been relentless for Tottenham again this season and there was another blow later in the second-half.
Simons went down clutching his right knee in agony after a tangle with Hugo Bueno and appeared to be in tears as he was carried off the pitch on a stretcher.
Footage shared on social media showed supporters at Molineux swearing at Simons as Tottenham’s medical staff carried him around the back of the goal.
The Dutchman was seen reacting angrily to the comme as he was taken away.
Former Tottenham defender Michael Dawson was across the match on Soccer Saturday and feared the worst for the Netherlands international.
‘Yeah it does [look serious]. I thought it was bad when he first did it then but he tried to get up, but then he just collapses again,’ Dawson said.
‘I’m worried long-term, never mind short-term. He looks distraught.’
