Everton are reportedly set for a “transformative summer” that could include a £100million spending spree should they qualify for Europe.

The Toffees’ 3-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday, plus other favourable results, leaves them two points off the Blues in sixth.

That would be enough for a Conference League spot, while Liverpool in fifth – a Europa League spot – are only three points ahead.

It may well be that even finishing as low as eighth this season is enough for a backdoor route into a UEFA competition next term.

And should David Moyes lead the Toffees into Europe, it would make for a very exciting summer transfer window at Everton.

Everton factor in for big home gates in Europe

Not only would reaching one of those competitions automatically bring in a cash windfall for Everton, it would also lead to at least three more home fixtures in Europe, each of which would sell out.

As per a report by Mark Douglas for The i Paper on Wednesday, Everton’s upcoming accounts will likely show a small loss for the most recent financial year.

However, commercial revenues are set to be at record levels and there is now wriggle room under the Premier League’s financial rules to splash out.

Douglas adds that “sources suggest the impact of qualifying for Europe could be transformative” for Everton this summer.

The Friedkin Group already have one eye on next season, with a right-back, a centre-back and a new forward the priorities.

What players have Everton been linked with ahead of summer window?

Everton continue to be linked with numerous players ahead of the summer transfer window, many of which – not by coincidence – are attackers.

Sorba Thomas has emerged as a surprise target for Everton, while Ricardo Pepi might be back on the Toffees’ radar after a move to Fulham broke down.

Liam Delap, having failed at Chelsea, is another whose name just will not go away when it comes to Everton transfer links.

In a dream world, Moyes would bring in Jack Grealish permanently from Manchester City if a more favourable fee can be agreed, on top of signing a couple of other attackers.

Everton fans will be feeling greedy right now, but there is certainly no shame in that.
