Everton have had an approach for Fulham ace Harry Wilson rebuffed.

Everton have been linked with a move for Wales ace Wilson throughout the transfer window as David Moyes looks to bolster his squad for the remaining months of the season.

However, the Cottagers have been reluctant to allow the 28-year-old to move on this winter, given he has scored eight goals and provided four assists in 23 Premier League appearances this term.

And it looks as though Everton will have to look elsewhere if they are going to improve their forward options before the 7pm deadline on Monday.

Why have Fulham turned down Everton approach for Harry Wilson?

According to BBC Sport, Everton’s approach for Wilson was actually sent to their Premier League rivals last week but was turned down by the Cottagers.

Wilson is out of contract at Craven Cottage in the summer, and there had been talk of the London-based outfit cashing in to avoid losing him on a free.

BBC Sport says that contract talks are currently on hold with Wilson, who moved to Fulham on a full transfer from Liverpool in 2022 having initially joined on loan in July 2021.

However, Fulham are still hopeful of convincing Wilson to agree to new terms and holding off potential suitors – the list of which is sure to have grown given his performances this season.

But, from an Everton standpoint, it does look as though a move for Wilson is going to be a non-starter as we approach the end of the winter deadline.

Who else could Everton sign before deadline day finishes?

Everton have been keen to bolster their forward line before the end of window, especially given the long-term injury to Manchester City loanee Jack Grealish.

The Toffees would have liked to add another creative option regardless, given the struggles of summer signing Tyler Dibling to really make an impact at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

But Grealish’s injury has only exacerbated things, and links to Wilson were understandable given his performances and contract situation.

The Toffees are consequently exploring other options in the market, and Everton are set to win the race to sign Tyrique George from Chelsea, a loan move that could become permanent.

George may be the perfect option to slot into that left-wing option that has been left void by Grealish, and would give Moyes that other forward presence he is desperate to add.
