Ibrox View: Rangers to be delighted as player may already be problem for club after winter exit
Rangers got Rabbi Matondo off their books in the winter transfer window and he’s now Sk Brann’s problem.
The Wales international has already shown his disappointment at his lack of game time at the Norwegian club, coming off the bench for his debut in the final minutes of the 3-2 loss against Viking FK on 18 April.
Matondo left Ibrox on a free transfer, with the deal including potential bonuses and a sell-on clause, the Light Blues will surely be delighted they got rid of him.
The 25-year-old seems to be giving Brann a selection headache just a few weeks into his career in Bergen and his comments may highlight frustration.
Danny Rohl didn’t trust Matondo after being appointed as the Glaswegian outfit look to win the William Hill Premiership title after coming back from an almost impossible position.

🚨 RANGERS TRANSFER UPDATE 🚨
The latest breaking news on signings, departures, and Danny Röhl’s primary targets.
Rangers set up for summer transfer reinforcements
Andrew Cavenagh has spent a pretty penny on stars since completing his takeover of the Gers.
While it’s encouraging to see the Light Blues flexing their financial muscles, they must look to move on players like Matondo, who haven’t been living up to expectations.
Speaking to Bergens Tidende after his debut, the Welshman said, “It wasn’t many minutes. In my mind, I’m more ready than ever and I was hoping for more minutes, but that’s football. I feel ready for more than three to four minutes on the pitch. I could help more if I got more time.”
Player Transfer fee Tochi Chukwuani £4.3m Tuur Rommens £3.5m Andreas Skov Olsen Loan with buy £8.6m option Ryan Naderi £4.7m
Danilo, Oscar Cortes and Jose Cifuentes should be part of the next tranche of exits from the Glaswegian outfit in the summer.
Several players on loan, plus the likes of Nedim Bajrami and others not influential in Rohl’s plans, should also be packing their bags, with more quality in depth needed at the Govan side.
While the short-term focus right now will be on pipping Hearts in the William Hill Premiership table, the hierarchy in G51 would be wise to already have plans in place for the upcoming transfer window.
Danny Rohl may now want to keep Ibrox outcast
Bojan Miovski felt destined for the Rangers exit door at the end of the season after falling down the pecking order in recent months.
Ryan Naderi’s arrival led to the North Macedonia international struggling for game time and it felt like he had no future at Ibrox.

With the German striker’s possible season-ending injury, Miovski has shown his worth with some crucial goals in recent matches, which may change Rohl’s plans for him.
The 36-year-old head coach should give the former Girona ace more opportunities post-split and he may well have a bright future ahead in G51 after seeming like an outcast just a few weeks back.
