Leeds will be delighted with Harry Gray after what has been said about his Rotherham debut
Leeds United starlet Harry Gray appears to have made a bright start to his loan spell with Rotherham United.
The young striker is tipped to have a huge future ahead of him at Elland Road, and some fans had even been calling for him to receive Premier League minutes in the early months of the campaign.
Football Insider revealed back in November that Leeds were planning to let Gray leave on loan in January, in order for him to gain valuable first-team experience down in the EFL.
League One side Rotherham have been the beneficiaries of that desire to see the youngster tested in senior football, and there have already been signs to suggest that it could be a fruitful spell for the 17-year-old.
Rotherham boss Matt Hamshaw hails Harry Gray impact
Leeds confirmed Gray’s move to Rotherham on Wednesday, and he was swiftly included in their starting XI at the first opportunity for their trip to Stockport County this weekend.
The South Yorkshire outfit are currently inside the relegation zone in the third tier, and they fell to an eighth consecutive defeat with their 3-2 reverse at high-flying Stockport.
Gray led the line for the Millers alongside the experienced Jordan Hugill, and the youngster created two chances across the 90 minutes, despite not registering a single shot during the encounter.

Rotherham manager Matt Hamshaw was pleased with the impact that his new arrival made.
“I thought he (Gray) was very good, considering he’s 17 and it’s his full debut in men’s football,” Hamshaw told the Rotherham Advertiser.
“He’s got bloody knees and a scratched face and all the rest of it, but that’ll do him the world of good.”
Gray’s new boss was clearly delighted with the early signs that he saw from the loanee, and his observations are sure to have Leeds feeling the same way.
The Whites will have been desperate to see him heavily involved while out on loan, while being exposed to the physical rigours of senior men’s football is also a big bonus.

The fact that both of those appear to have happened on his full debut is a hugely positive sign for Daniel Farke and Co., and suggests that they may have found the right club for him.
What have Rotherham fans said about Harry Gray?
Leeds fans have been desperate to see Gray given first-team opportunities at Elland Road, but they will have to be patient as he develops in the coming years.
His stint at the New York Stadium should provide him with several valuable lessons for his future career, and while his manager was happy with his debut, his new fans have also taken a similar stance.
One supporter took to X to congratulate the youngster on a “promising debut,” while another suggested that he would be “begging” to go back to his parent club come the end of the game, such are Rotherham’s struggles at the moment.
Only time will tell whether Rotherham is the right place for Gray to take his game to the next level, but there will likely be quiet confidence among the coaches at Elland Road after the first round of reports.
