Pundit shares what Rangers fans may hate to hear about Ibrox winter signing

Rangers fans may need to give Andreas Skov Olsen time to prove himself at Ibrox.

The Gers signed the Denmark international on loan from VfL Wolfsburg until the end of the season in January, with an option to buy him in the summer.

As things stand, it doesn’t seem like the Light Blues have been given much reason to trigger the £8.6million buy option in the loan deal, with fans left frustrated by the forward’s lack of impact in Govan.

Andrew Cavenagh backed Rohl with multiple reinforcements in the winter transfer window, and it remains to be seen what the Glaswegian outfit will decide to do with the 26-year-old winger.

🚨 RANGERS TRANSFER UPDATE 🚨

The latest breaking news on signings, departures, and Danny Röhl’s primary targets.

Andreas Skov Olsen has nine games to convince Rangers

Craig Moore admits that supporters won’t like hearing that some players need consistent opportunities to prove themselves.

The former Gers centre-back acknowledges the Ibrox faithful’s disappointment with the Denmark international, but doesn’t want to see judgment passed on the winger yet.

With the Light Blues needing to pay a significant sum to sign the attacker permanently next summer, he seemingly has an uphill battle to prove his worth in G51.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show on 12 March, Moore said, “He’s taking a bit of stick from the supporters in regards to his output. He’s on loan and there’s a big buy option I believe, £8m or £9m, which is a lot of money. But again, it’s one of those ones, and I know people hate to hear it, but certain players do need time.”

The Govan side are out of the cup competitions and will need to pull off something special to win silverware next season.

Rohl’s team are six points off Hearts in the league table, and with nine games to go, Skov Olsen clearly doesn’t have much time left.

Rohl wants to see more from Skov Olsen before making any decision on his future, but the German manager shouldn’t continue keeping him in the starting lineup.

Djeidi Gassama has seen a drastic dip in form in recent weeks and has struggled for game time since the new winter arrivals at Ibrox.

The former Sheffield Wednesday boss should look to reinstil confidence in the French winger instead of relying on the Wolfsburg loanee.

Gassama proved at the start of the season that he can be a game-changer for the Glaswegian outfit and fans need to see that again from him in the William Hill Premiership.
