'That's where the money is' - Ex-scout uses 'enormous' example as Everton told where to hunt new sponsorship

Everton could land Toyota as their new sponsor as they hunt for a new agreement ready for next season.

The Toffees are one of 11 Premier League teams who need new deals to cover their front of shirt, as gambling sponsorship will be banned from the 2026/27 season.

Stake currently has the reins on the Blues shirts, but after plenty of controversy, it will finally be removed, ready for the new campaign.

That has raised plenty of speculation about who may table an offer to take over the deal from the Australian betting company.

Toyota has been mooted as a potential sponsorship option for Everton, with Wrexham potentially serving as a perfect example in L4.

Right now, the Toffees sit almost exactly mid-table in the Premier League for money accrued from their sponsorship agreement.

A figure in the region of £10million is reportedly paid by Stake, but there is now a need for a new partnership on Merseyside.

Toyota have been put forward as a potential option due to their ties with the Friedkin Group, so it would make total sense.

Former Everton scout Bryan King has urged the Blues to get a deal done and follow Wrexham as an example to get as much revenue from sponsorships as possible.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, King said: “If you’re going to get a big conglomerate like Toyota, it certainly helps financially.

“When you look at a club like Wrexham, they’ve got United Airlines on their shirts, and the amount of revenue that has been brought in is enormous.

“Their advertising is putting Premier League clubs to shame.

“Everton need to get a new deal because of their ties with a betting company, and that’s a pretty big deal; they could get Toyota to come in.

“They are a worldwide brand that are well-known. That’s where the money is.”

Toyota once looked set to sponsor the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but could now return and make their name prominent on the front of the shirts.

How much could Everton be paid by Toyota?

The need for a new sponsor is massive due to the changes in regulation, but the Toffees can’t afford to undersell themselves.

If they are currently paid £10m per season, they will be hopeful of an increased rate, even if the market has turned to the seller’s favour.

That could see the Blues land anywhere above £15m from Toyota if they are to strike an agreement and an additional payment is authorised.

This could prove to be the moment where Everton take the next step if they get this right, especially if they are to secure European qualification this season.
