'You know what...' - Shearer shares 'sneaky' Everton feeling in prediction vs Brentford

Alan Shearer has tipped Everton to beat Brentford away from home in the Premier League on Saturday.

David Moyes’ team will travel to the Gtech Community Stadium on 11 April as both teams look to cement their place in the European spots.

Shearer has predicted the Toffees will get the better of the Bees, citing their impressive record on the road this season, with seven wins and three draws from 15 matches.

While the former Newcastle United striker has acknowledged the threat Igor Thiago presents up top, he has a “sneaky feeling” the Blues will get the job done.

Moyes has Champions League football within sight as the Merseyside outfit sit just three points behind fifth-place Liverpool and have a derby coming up at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton’s Premier League record this season

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has pulled the creative strings for the Toffees since coming back to full fitness, while James Garner and Idrissa Gueye have formed a solid foundation in the engine room.

The Blues have been defensively solid in recent matches, and it’s no surprise they’re considered favourites to beat Brentford.

Writing in the Metro on 10 April, Shearer said, “You know what, with Everton’s away form, I’m going to go for an away win. I know Brentford are a tricky customer, strong, physical, and Keith Andrews has done a magnificent job and Thiago up front is a real threat. But I just have a sneaky feeling for Everton.”

Hill Dickinson Stadium record only blemish David Moyes must rectify

While Moyes has done a brilliant job of turning the Toffees into European contenders, some fans have raised concerns about their record at the new stadium.

The Blues have won just six of their 16 Premier League games in L3, something the Scottish manager needs to address.

If the Merseysiders have any ambition of succeeding, they should make Hill Dickinson a fortress.
