Confirmed: Super Eagles starting XI against Jordan — Uzoho, Ogbu start; Sor set for debut
Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has named his starting lineup for tonight's international friendly against Jordan, Soccernet.ng reports.
Francis Uzoho starts in goal after Maduka Okoye was ruled out with a thigh injury sustained in training. The backline has been completely reshuffled, with Chibuike Nwaiwu earning his first start and Emmanuel Fernandez making his full international debut.
Hamburg's Philip Otele and Genk's Yira Collins Sor are also handed their first senior caps, starting on the left and right wings, respectively.
Here is the confirmed Super Eagles XI for the Jordan clash
Goalkeeper: Francis Uzoho
Francis Uzoho steps in between the sticks following Maduka Okoye's withdrawal from the squad. The Omonia Nicosia shot-stopper earns his 37th cap tonight, having served as Nigeria's backup at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

Right-Back: Bright Osayi-Samuel
The Fenerbahce defender is the one survivor from the backline that started against Iran. Osayi-Samuel was solid in that 2-1 win and retained his place on the right side of defence.
Centre-Back: Emmanuel Fernandez
Emmanuel Fernandez earns his first cap for the Super Eagles tonight, coming in for Semi Ajayi, who departed camp with a knock picked up during the Iran game.

Centre-Back: Chibuike Nwaiwu
After an impressive cameo off the bench against Iran—he replaced the injured Igoh Ogbu and performed admirably for over 20 minutes—Chibuike Nwaiwu is rewarded with his first start.
Left-Back: Zaidu Sanusi
FC Porto's Zaidu Sanusi comes into the side at left-back, replacing Bruno Onyemaechi, who was granted permission to leave camp to be with his partner following the birth of his child.
Central Midfield: Wilfred Ndidi
No surprises here. Captain Wilfred Ndidi keeps his place as the midfield anchor. The former Leicester City man will be tasked with shielding the new-look defence.

Central Midfield: Fisayo Dele-Bashiru
Fisayo Dele-Bashiru comes into the starting lineup in place of Alex Iwobi, who drops to the bench. The Lazio midfielder impressed when he came on as a substitute against Iran and has been rewarded with a start tonight.
Right Wing: Yira Collins Sor
Genk forward Yira Collins Sor is handed his first senior cap, starting on the right wing. Sor did not feature against Iran and tonight represents his first chance to show Chelle what he can do at international level.
Attacking Midfield: Ademola Lookman
Ademola Lookman will operate in a free role just behind Akor Adams, tasked with unlocking a Jordan defence known for its rigid structure under coach Jamal Sellami.
Left Wing: Philip Otele
Hamburg's Philip Otele earns his maiden cap, starting on the left flank. The forward has been in impressive form at the club level and gets the nod ahead of Moses Simon, who started against Iran.
Striker: Akor Adams
Akor Adams leads the line once again after scoring in the 2-1 victory over Iran. The striker have made himself the first-choice centre-forward in the absence of Victor Osimhen following his impressive performance. A goal tonight would further cement Adams' place in Chelle's plans going forward.
