Jermain Defoe a fan of latest Dele Alli and Tottenham update as images emerge
Tottenham hero Jermain Defoe appears to have welcomed the news that Dele Alli is training at his old club.
Dele‘s career has taken a nosedive in recent years, particularly since leaving Tottenham for Everton in January 2022.
Wretched spells at the Toffees, Besiktas, and Como have since followed, with the 29-year-old currently a free agent after being released by the Italian team last September.
Amid the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium outfit’s ongoing relegation battle, the former England international is training individually at Hotspur Way as he bids to find a new team.
On Wednesday, Dele posted footage of him being put through his paces at Tottenham’s training ground, and now ex-Spurs striker Defoe has reacted to another social media post about the attacking midfielder.

Tottenham fans share the Dele Alli love
Social media was ablaze with talk of Dele after news emerged of him returning to Tottenham to keep his fitness up.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano took to Instagram to state that Dele began training with Spurs this week, with the former Everton man hopeful of continuing his playing career.
That post was liked more than 750,000 times, and one of them included ex-England forward Defoe.
After years of tough times, both on and off the pitch for Dele, it seems this turn of events has given him something of a boost.
Speculation mounted last year that there was interest in Dele from La Liga and Championship clubs but for the time being, he remains a free agent.
Dele joined Como on an 18-month deal in January 2025 but only made one appearance for the Serie A outfit, in a game where he was sent off in a disastrous cameo.
His future remains uncertain but being back at Tottenham, albeit in a different capacity, will have put a smile on his face.
Tottenham have bigger matters to deal with than Dele Alli
Truth be told, Tottenham have got more important matters to consider than Dele’s situation. However, like thousands of other Tottenham fans, the former MK Dons star will hope Spurs can get out of the mess they are currently in.
Igor Tudor was only appointed as interim boss on 14 February but already he is under pressure to keep his job after defeats to Arsenal and Fulham.
Heading into Thursday night’s crunch encounter with lowly Crystal Palace, Tottenham are 16th in the Premier League and sit just one point outside the relegation zone.

Spurs haven’t won in the league since a nervy 1-0 win at Palace on 28 December, back when Thomas Frank was in charge.
The Dane was sacked less than six weeks later, and in that time, Tottenham became relegation candidates.
Many have said Spurs are too big to go down but football is a ruthless sport, and at present, they are spiralling towards relegation.
