Jarrad Branthwaite has made a new admission on his future at Everton.

Branthwaite signed a new five-year contract with the Blues in July 2025, which should keep him on Merseyside until 2030.

His action has been limited this season as a hamstring injury that he suffered in pre-season kept him out until January.

However, there is still interest in his services after his standout performances for the Hill Dickinson Stadium side.

The Everton star is only focused on helping the Blues in their ambitions to reach European football, though.

What has Branthwaite said about Everton future?

Branthwaite confirmed that he does not feel like he has reached his best level for Everton, which should leave supporters purring.

The idea that he can still go up a level and will get even better will surely have Evertonians salivating, as he has already been quite brilliant.

Speaking to the club’s official website, he said: “I am 23 years old now, and I think I’ve still got loads more to go in terms of my levels.

“People ask me how far I think I am off my best after the injury but, honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever reached my ‘best’ yet, because I’ve got plenty of years to reach my prime.

“I will keep learning, keep pushing myself and do everything I can to help this team.”

How do the numbers prove Branthwaite’s admission right?

Branthwaite made his first Premier League appearance for the L4 outfit in July 2020, playing 45 minutes in a 3-0 loss to Wolves.

It was not until the 2023-24 season that he made his true breakthrough, though, after spending time with PSV and Blackburn Rovers on loan.

He made 35 league appearances in that campaign, helping the Toffees secure 12 clean sheets, making an average of 1.9 tackles, 4.5 clearances and 5.2 ball recoveries per game, according to Sofascore.

In the 2024-25 season, he made 30 league appearances, keeping eight clean sheets, with 1.2 tackles, 6.3 clearances and 3.1 ball recoveries per game.

So far, in this campaign, he has played in the top-flight eight times, keeping no clean sheets, making one tackle, 3.5 clearances and 2.4 ball recoveries per game.

That proves that he has not reached his best level yet, as his stats seem to have regressed each season; however, it is important to note that the current campaign’s numbers are heavily impacted by the injury.

One thing is for sure, Branthwaite is the future at the back for David Moyes’ side, and it is encouraging to hear him admit that he is targeting a higher level than his very solid current one.
