Elite club adviser: Man City have already held 'serious discussions' about superstar's summer exit
Manchester City are already planning for the departure of midfielder Rodri at the end of the season.
That is according to former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, on Rodri’s future at the Etihad.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, after the Spaniard revealed he would like to move back to his home country when his time in the Premier League ends.
Questioned over a move to Real Madrid, Rodri admitted “you can’t turn down the best clubs in the world,” even though he has previously played for city rivals Atletico.
Man City may look to sign Rodri’s successor in the summer transfer window, with Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson identified as a top target.

Man City to make decision over Rodri’s future
Everton’s former chief Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes Rodri will leave Man City this summer.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks the club will “refresh” their options in the middle of the park.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “That’s one I do think could happen.
“There’s going to be a bit of a refresh there in those sorts of positions at Man City and I do see Rodri making that move.
“So that’s one that I would say has the potential to go ahead, and I do understand there have been pretty serious discussions already about moving on behind the scenes.”
Man City face competition for Newcastle star
Anderson’s arrival at Man City this summer may not be the only addition to Pep Guardiola’s midfield ahead of next season.
Sources have told Football Insider of Man City’s interest in Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali, and that the Magpies could sell the Italian for £80million.
It comes as Bernardo Silva is also expected to leave Man City, and Tonali comes with Premier League experience having spent the past three years on Tyneside.
The 25-year-old is a strong box-to-box midfielder who Newcastle will be desperate to keep, and who has also attracted interest from Manchester United.
