Mike Dean instantly reacts to Andre controversy in Wolves showdown vs Tottenham
Mike Dean has supported Anthony Taylor’s decision not to send off Andre for a foul on Yves Bissouma in Tottenham Hotspur‘s huge 1-0 win over Wolves.
Tottenham headed into Saturday’s encounter at Molineux on a 15-game winless run as they sought to jump out of the relegation zone.
As expected, the first half of the contest was a testy and nervy affair between 18th-placed Tottenham and already relegated Wolves.
Spurs have been short on luck this season with injuries, but have now gone on to lose Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons in huge blows.
And Tottenham felt aggrieved with Andre’s challenge on Bissouma, with many believing the Wolves man should have been sent off.

Tottenham’s woes continue as Andre breathes sigh of relief
Tottenham have parted company with Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor this season, and now Roberto De Zerbi is tasked with keeping them up.
Before the Wolves game, the Italian had tasted a 1-0 defeat at Sunderland, followed by a 2-2 draw with Brighton, at a time when they had a growing injury list.

And it looked like they could have another injury casualty when Andre clattered into Bissouma. Referee Taylor booked the Wolves man but faced no further punishment.
And former Premier League official Dean felt the right decision was made, despite the protests of the Tottenham players.
Speaking live on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday, he said: “He [Andre] has caught him [Bissouma] low. I think Rob Edwards was thinking the worst.”
“But he’s low, and he’s gone along the ground, so it’s probably just about the right decision.”
Tottenham get relegation lifeline
Tottenham were the better side against Wolves, but for much of the contest, it felt like a draw beckoned.
However, just when hope of victory was fading, substitute Joao Palhinha popped up eight minutes from time to give Tottenham a crucial lead.
Huge celebrations followed after Simons’ strike against Tottenham last Sunday against Brighton, but instead of conceding late on, Spurs held on for their first Premier League win since 28 December.
Tottenham will hope this 1-0 win over Wolves can kickstart their survival; however, West Ham’s late victory over Everton was an undeniable blow.
